There is one such parent, who do strange things themselves to save money and also get it done by their children. The parents of 4 children, Raul and Patricia Pinto, call themselves the most miser parents in the world.
- Chillers find in the garbage cans
These couples often take their children to the garage and after getting the car wash, the children find chillers, candy etc. in the vacuum cleaner garbage bag. For this they say in the garage that Patricia’s ear ring is lost. Then when the children scavenge the vacuum cleaner’s garbage bag and take out the useful things from it, they show a fake ear ring and tell in the garage that they have found the ear ring. Patricia says, ‘Doing this for my kids is like a treasure hunt. They also find valuables like coins, candy, ear phones and even jewellery, from the garbage.
- Sauce and salt are brought from the restaurant
Even while going out for family lunch-dinner, the family does not shy away from skimping. Raul explains, ‘Obviously our family of 6 people needs a lot of food every day. In such a situation, to save money, we always take tap water while eating out and save money for bottle water. Since 2 big kids have come home in summer, in order to increase the budget of the house, we ask for extra sauce, salt etc. in the restaurant and then they bring it home. We take club sandwiches instead of having separate sandwiches for each one. Due to this we have to order 2 plates less. Later I ask for a lot of extra salad.
According to the report of The Sun, his elder daughter Monica says, ‘When we do this, the waitress thinks us psycho and looks at us very badly.’
- timer in the fridge
To prevent children from drinking too much beer, Raul has put a timer in his fridge. Each member can open the fridge only once in a day and that too for just 24 seconds. Not only this, they keep cheap beer in expensive beer bottles. Their children say that we understand all the tricks of our parents and recognize cheap beer.
