
Chief Minister to honor Olympic medal winners including Neeraj Chopra, Ravi, Mirabai

The Yogi government will not only honor the Indian players who have performed brilliantly in the Tokyo Olympics, but will also shower money. For this, a grand ceremony has been organized at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Stadium on 19th August. In the ceremony, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will also give cash prizes to all the medal winners including gold winner Neeraj Chopra, silver winner Ravi Kumar Dahiya, Mirabai Chanu.
The Chief Minister will also felicitate the men’s hockey team that won bronze after 41 years and the women’s team that secured the fourth position. Principal Secretary Sports Kalpana Awasthi informed that Rs 25 lakh each will be given as incentive to all the players participating from UP. Additional Chief Secretary Avnish Kumar Awasthi and Principal Secretary Sports also took stock of the preparations on Thursday.

- One crore to each player of the bronze-winning hockey team
One crore rupees will be given to all the players of the men’s hockey team that won the bronze. 50 lakh each will be given to all the players of the fourth ranked women’s hockey team. 25 lakh to the chief coach of the men’s hockey team, Rs 10-10 lakh per staff will be given. Wrestler Deepak Poonia and golfer Aditi Ashok will also be given Rs 50 lakh each.
- Rs 1.25 crore to Lalit Upadhyay
Lalit Upadhyay of Varanasi, the player of the team winning hockey bronze, will be given one crore for bronze medal and 25 lakh as incentive. At the same time, women’s hockey player Vandana Kataria of Meerut will get 75 lakhs.
