New Delhi: The ICC T20 World Cup is going to be played in UAE and Oman from October 17. The spectators are already very excited about the T20 World Cup but the ICC has increased the excitement by changing some rules. This new rule will be applicable in knockout matches.
- If it rains, the new rule will apply
The ICC has made a new rule for the knockout matches affected due to rain. According to the DLS rules, both teams need to bat 5 overs if rain disturbs the league stage matches, but the ICC has increased this to 10 overs for the semi-finals and the final. Now in the match affected due to rain, both the teams will need to bat at least 10 overs, only then the result of the match will be out.
- This rule has already been implemented
This rule of ICC has also been implemented in the Women’s T20 World Cup played last year. It rained heavily in both the semi-final matches of the T20 World Cup held in Australia. The semi-final match played between India and England was completely washed out due to rain. Earlier this rule of ICC was 5 overs for all matches, but now it has been changed to 10 overs for knockout.
- Matches will be played in UAE and Oman
The T20 World will start in Oman from October 17. Where, Papua New Guinea and Oman will face each other. Whereas, the Super 12 round will start with the match between Australia and South Africa, which will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi.
