WhatsApp is rolling out a new ‘push name within the chat list’ feature on iOS beta. According to Wabetainfo’s report, beta testers will now see the push name in the chat list instead of the phone number every time.
Unique features are going to come on WhatsApp in a few months. Some will come on iOS version and some will come on Android version first. WhatsApp is rolling out a new ‘push name within the chat list’ feature on iOS beta. As reported by Wabetainfo, beta testers will now see the push name in the chat list instead of the phone number every time they receive a message from an unknown member of the group.
Will tell the name of an unknown number
This feature will make it easy for users to understand who is an unknown contact without having to save the number as a new contact. This will be useful for participants in large group chats where it is difficult to keep track of who is in the group.
- Available for beta testers
The report states that the feature is currently available to some beta testers who install the latest version of WhatsApp beta for iOS from the TestFlight app and is expected to be released to more users in the coming days.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday it was reported that the messaging platform was working on a new feature for iOS beta that would allow users to set expiry dates for groups. When this feature is released, users will be able to choose from different expiration options such as one day, one week or a custom date.
