Vatican City, Vatican: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Vatican City on Saturday during his Italy tour. There he met with Pope Francis. During this, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and National Defense Advisor Ajit Doval also accompanied him.
PM Modi’s first meeting with Pope Francis
According to experts, this was the first meeting of PM Narendra Modi with Pope Francis. The time for meeting between the two was fixed for 20 minutes, but this meeting lasted for about 1 hour. During this, PM Modi and the Pope discussed many issues including eradicating poverty from the world, climate change, bringing peace and increasing prosperity.

During the meeting, PM Modi invited Pope Francis to visit India. Which he accepted. Earlier in the year 1999, Pope John Paul II had visited India. Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister of the country during that time. Now PM Modi has invited Pope France. If he comes to India, he will become the first pope to come here in the last 22 years.
