Before the reshuffle, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar, Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank and Chemicals and Fertilizers Minister Sadananda Gowda have been discharged from the Modi cabinet. NDA allies have also got a place in the Modi cabinet. RCP Singh from JDU, Pashupati Paras from LJP has become cabinet minister while Anupriya Patel from Apna Dal has been made minister of state.
Including PM Modi, there were 10 ministers from UP till now, out of which Santosh Gangwar has resigned. Seven new ministers have been replaced from UP, making the state 16 ministers. Elections are to be held in UP next year.
Gujarat also has elections next year, from where Mansukh Mandaviya, Mahendrabhai Munjapara and Purushottam Rupala have been promoted. Apart from this, place has also been given on new faces Darshana Jardosh and Dev Singh Chauhan.
