New Delhi: The investigation in the extortion case of more than 200 crores from inside Tihar Jail has now reached Bollywood. On Monday, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) summoned Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez to its Delhi office and questioned her for about 5 hours.

According to sources, the name of Jacqueline Fernandes has also come up during the investigation in the Sukesh Chandrashekhar case. That is why the ED has made this inquiry. Although Jacqueline is named as an accused or as a victim, the ED has not given any information in this regard. Apart from ED, PMLA’s investigation is also going on in the case of recovery of 200 crores from Tihar Jail.

Sukesh Chandrashekhar is the same person who promised to get the election symbol from AIADMK deputy chief TTV Dinakaran for Rs 2 crore. Sukesh was arrested by the Crime Branch after the matter came to light. Recently, Sukesh had extorted about 200 crores from the wives of Religare Company promoter Malvinder and Shivinder Singh from inside Tihar Jail. In this case some people of Tihar administration including RBL Bank officials were arrested. The ED also interrogated Sukesh’s close aide Leena Paul. In this case, a few days ago, the ED raided the bungalow in Chennai, whose price was told in crores. Taking action during the raid, the ED also recovered about 15 luxury vehicles along with a huge amount of cash.

Let us tell you that the promoters of Religare Malvinder Singh and Shivinder Singh are lodged in Tihar Jail since October 2019. Both of them are accused of embezzlement of Rs 2397 crore in Religare Finvest and its parent company Religare Enterprise. Meanwhile, a person called the wife of the Singh brothers and bluffed them to get bail for her husband and cheated them more than 200 crores. He has now made the same complaint to the Economic Offenses Wing of Delhi Police. Taking action against the wife of the Singh brothers, the department has registered two FIRs and started further investigation.
