Bhopal:Â A heartbreaking case has come to light from Madhya Pradesh, where a 14-year-old girl has been arrested for killing her newborn child. The girl told that her cousin along with his companions raped her several times in 8 months.
According to a news published in Hindustan Times, on Sunday, the police arrested the girl for throwing her baby born a day before in the well. During interrogation, the girl told the police that her cousin along with his accomplices raped her several times. First he raped her in October last year and then forced the girl to have sex with his friends. Apart from this, he also helped in killing the girl’s newborn child.
 Girl was raped several times in 8 months
Ashok Nagar Superintendent of Police Raghuvansh Bhadauria said the gang rape of the girl came to light when she was arrested for the murder of the child. He told that two days ago, the police recovered the body of a child in a well. During investigation, the police came to know that a 14-year-old girl gave birth to him and threw him in the well. The police arrested him under section 302 (murder) of the IPC. During interrogation, the girl confessed everything and told the police about her rape. The girl told that between October 2020 and May 2021, 5 people raped her several times. The girl’s mother had died three years ago and her father is a migrant labourer.

Bhadauria said that the girl mostly lived alone in her village house. During this, his 21-year-old cousin used to come frequently. In October 2020, he raped her for the first time. Referring to the statement of the rape victim, the senior police officer said that later the accused brother raped the girl along with four of his friends, including two minors, several times and threatened to kill her.

The SP of the district told that one day when she felt pain in her stomach, she told her cousin that she could be pregnant. After this the accused brother took him to a quackery doctor. The quack doctor confirmed the pregnancy and also gave pills to make the child fall. But the girl gave birth to a premature child and together with her brother threw the newborn child into the well.
The police took the girl into custody and was produced before the Juvenile Justice Board and sent to the Children’s Home. Four of his friends, including the boy’s cousin and two minors, have been arrested for gang rape under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO Act).
