2000 Rupees Note Exchange: Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI will no longer issue new notes of 2000 rupees. The Rs 2000 notes currently available in the market can be exchanged till September 30, 2023. Quoting sources, news agency ANI said, Rs 2000 note will remain valid even after 30 September.

Demonetisation in India: The Reserve Bank of India i.e. RBI will no longer issue new Rs 2000 notes. The Rs 2000 notes currently available in the market can be exchanged till September 30, 2023.
Quoting sources, news agency ANI said, Rs 2000 note will remain valid even after 30 September. RBI hopes that 4 months is enough time for people to exchange notes from banks. The 2000 notes which are currently in the market will be returned to the banks by the stipulated deadline of 30 September. This is a regular exercise of RBI and people need not panic.
But there is no need to fear because the situation is not like demonetisation. RBI said that those who have 2000 rupee notes, they can go to the bank from 23 May 2023 and change them. Now know the big things of this decision.
- RBI said that people who have 2000 rupee notes, they can deposit it in their bank account or they can go to any bank branch and exchange them for other currency notes.
- RBI has said that 2000 rupee notes can be deposited in the bank in the same way as the normal amount is deposited. There is no restriction of any kind regarding this.
- RBI has said that in order to avoid any interference in the regular work of bank branches, notes of Rs 2,000 can be exchanged in other currency up to the limit of Rs 20,000 at a time. That is, only 10 notes of 2000 rupees can be changed at a time.
- According to the circular of the Reserve Bank, people have enough time to complete this process in the stipulated time. 2000 notes can be deposited or exchanged in banks till 30 September 2023. Separate guidelines have been issued to the banks.
- Apart from banks, 2000 rupee notes can also be changed from May 23 in 19 regional offices of RBI.
- The Reserve Bank has refused to issue Rs 2000 notes to banks with immediate effect.
