The people of this city can now book and buy the Bajaj Chetak Electric Scooter. But here the company is planning to launch it in more cities because on the other hand Ola has also started booking its electric scooter.
Bajaj Auto has launched its Chetak electric scooter in Nagpur. The booking of the EV has now started for the customers of this city on the company’s official India website. If you live in Nagpur and wish to book a Chetak, you can do so by paying a token amount of Rs 2,000. Like other cities, Bajaj Chetak has been launched in Nagpur in two variants i.e. Urban and Premium. While the Urban trim costs Rs 1,42,988, the range-topping premium variant costs around Rs 2,000 more and hence will cost you Rs 1,44,987. Prices given are ex-showroom, Nagpur.
The company’s official website also mentions that you will have to pay around Rs 5,700 for insurance and Rs 300 extra for registration. Apart from launching the electric scooter in Nagpur, Bajaj Auto has also started registration for the Chetak in Aurangabad and Mysore. The company said, booking for this will start soon in both these cities. You can register yourself on the company’s official website and you will be notified whenever the brand opens bookings for the scooter in these cities.
Special Features of the Scooter
The Bajaj Chetak electric scooter is powered by a 3.8 kW electric motor that generates 5 hp of power and 16.2 Nm of torque. The motor is paired with a 3 kWh lithium-ion battery, thanks to which the company is claiming a range of up to 95 km (in eco mode) on a single full charge. The EV can hit a top speed of 70 kmph.
Bajaj Auto aims to make the Chetak electric scooter available in over 20 cities across the country by next year. A big competition for the Bajaj Chetak is coming soon in the form of the Ola electric scooter. The booking for this has now started for just Rs 499 and we are expecting it to be launched next month.
