Delhi Arvind Kejriwal Govt Vs LG: There have been reports of confrontation once again between the Delhi government and the Lieutenant Governor. According to sources, the important file of the Delhi government is stuck in the Lieutenant Governor’s office. Actually, Kejriwal has to go to the World Cities Summit to be held in Singapore to keep the Delhi model in front of the world. For this, High Commissioner of Singapore Simon Wang had invited Chief Minister Kejriwal to Delhi. According to sources, the file to go to Singapore has been stuck in LG House for the last three weeks.
- Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia made this allegation
According to the information, this had never happened before. At the time of the old LG, the file of the Chief Minister’s departure was sent back to the Delhi government in 1 to 2 days. A few days ago, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia accused the BJP of filing baseless complaints to stop the work being done by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party in Delhi. Also accused Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena of violating the law to favor the BJP.
- LG had approved the ACB probe
Sisodia made the remarks a few days after LG Vinay Saxena recently approved a probe by the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) into allegations of irregularities in the construction of seven temporary hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic. The senior Aam Aadmi Party leader alleged that Saxena has set aside all laws and rules to order an ACB probe on the basis of bogus complaints given by BJP leaders. “We are a staunchly honest government and we are not afraid of any investigation,” he said. BJP Delhi is registering such complaints to stop the work being done by the government in various areas.
Manish Sisodia told the media that, this is an old complaint of 2021 and former Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal had rejected it. However, the new Lieutenant Governor has approved the investigation of the matter. Sisodia asked under whose pressure the new Lt Governor has approved the probe on the basis of a year-old complaint, when Anil Baijal had termed the same complaint as “baseless”.
