This could prove to be the last season of IPL for Dhoni, known as ‘Thala’ in cricket. He can play his last match on May 14 at Chepauk Stadium in Chennai. If CSK fails to qualify for the playoffs, then Dhoni’s farewell match in IPL could be against Kolkata Knight Riders (CSK vs KKR). Please tell that he is handling the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings since the year 2008 i.e. the initial season.
- CSK official claimed
Quoting a Chennai Super Kings official, the website Inside Sport said, “Yes, this will be MS Dhoni’s last season as a player. So far this is the information we have got. Obviously this is his personal decision. He has not officially told the team management that he will retire. It is good news for the fans that IPL is coming back to Chennai but it will not be good for us that Dhoni will play his last season. This all-rounder could not bring success to the team. Due to this, the captaincy was again given to Dhoni from Jadeja.
