New Delhi. The Modi government has taken a big initiative to save the lives of those injured in road accidents. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has said to give five thousand rupees in cash to the person who takes the victim to the hospital within an hour of serious injury in the road accident. This information was given by the ministry on Monday.
For this, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways wrote a letter to the Principal Secretaries and Transport Secretaries of all the states and union territories. In this letter, the ministry said that this scheme will be effective from October 15, 2021 to March 31, 2026.

The ministry on Monday issued guidelines for the ‘Scheme to reward noble helpers’. The ministry said that the purpose of this scheme is to motivate the general public to help road accident victims in emergency situations. A certificate will also be given along with the cash prize. The ministry said that apart from this award, 10 most noble helpers at the national level will be given an award of Rs one lakh each.

Let us tell you, every year about 5 lakh road accidents happen in the country, in which about 1.5 lakh people are killed, while more than 4.5 lakh people become victims of accidents on the road. The government is very concerned about the death toll in the road accident. Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari has asked all the stakeholders to take steps to reduce the number of people killed in road accidents. At the same time, a target has been set to reduce the deaths due to road accidents by 50 percent by 2025. He said that due to the deaths in road accidents, a dangerous situation is being created and India is ahead of America and China in the first place in terms of road accidents.
