Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new railway station of Gandhinagar in Gujarat today. This will be the country’s first redeveloped railway station and passengers will get many facilities like airport here.
250 ft high 5-star hotel
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the new railway station of Gandhinagar through video conference at 4 pm. Along with this, he will also inaugurate a luxury 5-star hotel built on top of the station building. The Gujarat government officials gave full details of the Prime Minister’s program on Thursday.
The 5-star hotel built atop the new railway station building is 250 feet high. The hotel is spread over 7,400 square meters and has 318 rooms. It has been built at a cost of Rs 790 crore. This luxury hotel will serve national and international guests of the program to be held at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhi Nagar. Mahatma Mandir is a convention center which is right in front of this railway station.
Later mall, multiplex will also be built
According to the news of PTI, there will not be only a 5-star hotel with the new railway station of Gandhinagar. Rather, it will be a big economic zone in the coming years. The Managing Director of Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development Corporation (GARUD), the company that redeveloped this station, S. s. Rathod said an area of ​​7,600 square meters has been left with the station where malls, food courts and multiplexes will be developed in future. It will be run on the basis of Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Special facilities for handicapped
Rathod said that the new station in Gandhinagar has facilities like airport. It has two escalators, three lifts and two underground subways connecting the platforms. This station is Divyang friendly. Adequate ramps, special ticket counters, lifts, separate parking space etc. have been provided for them.
Country’s first redeveloped railway station
The new railway station of Gandhinagar is the first redevelopment station in the country. Its foundation stone was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself in January 2017. This station has been redeveloped by GARUD. It is a Special Purpose Company (SPV) in which the Government of Gujarat and the Ministry of Railways have a stake.
Projects worth crores started
Apart from this, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate 3 new attractions like a neter park, a robotic gallery and an aquatic park in the Science City of Ahmedabad. The Aquatic Gallery built at a cost of Rs 260 crore in Science City will be the largest aquarium in the country. Here 11,600 fish and marine animals from around the world can be seen.
There will be more than 200 robots of 79 types in the Robotics Gallery and there will be life-sized sculptures of animals in the Nature Gallery. Their cost is Rs 127 crore and Rs 14 crore respectively.
