Currently Honda has two 110cc motorcycles – the CD 110 Dream DLX and the Livo. These have a 109.51cc, single-cylinder engine, which generates max power of 8.7bhp at 7,500rpm and 9.3Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
In such a situation, now the company is moving towards launching a new product in the market with a smaller engine, which will compete with the Hori Splendor. The new Honda 100cc bike will compete with the Hero Splendor Plus, which comes with a 97.2cc engine producing 8bhp. It has a 4-speed gearbox, it is claimed that the bike gives a mileage of more than 65 km/l. Talking about the price, the price of the new Honda 100cc bike is expected to be around Rs 60,000 to Rs 70,000.
It is noteworthy that at present Hero Splendor continues to dominate the motorcycle segment. Hero Splendor is usually the best selling motorcycle every month. On the other hand, if we talk about the scooter segment, then Honda has dominated it. Honda’s Activa is the best selling scooter. That is, both these companies – Hero and Honda, remain leaders in different segments of two-wheelers. Now Honda plans to bring a product in comparison to Hero Splendor, which will further strengthen its hold in the motorcycle segment as well.
