Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appealed to the people to nominate such people of their choice for the Padma awards, who are doing extraordinary work at the grassroots level. Modi tweeted that there are many people doing extraordinary work at the grassroots level in India, but not many are often known about them.
Sharing the link of the website for the award, he tweeted, “India has many talented people who are doing exceptional work at the grassroots level. Often, we don’t get to see or hear much about them. Do you know such inspiring people? You can nominate him for the Padma award. Nominations are open till September 15.
The Padma Awards – Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri are the highest civilian honors of the country. Over the years, the Modi government has honored hundreds of unsung heroes with Padma awards for their achievement in various fields and their contribution to the society. These awards, instituted in 1954, are announced on the occasion of Republic Day.
