Then there were 310 days in a year and a week of 8 days. King Numa Ponpilus of Rome was the first to change the Roman calendar. After this came a ruler in Rome, Julius Caesar. He got the Roman calendar changed again. He did 12 months in a year. Caesar made the calendar after meeting astronomers. In this meeting, he came to know that the Earth revolves around the Sun in 365 days and six hours. Because of this, he got a year of 365 days in a calendar.

However, in the year 1582, Pope Gregory made a mistake regarding the leap year in the Julian calendar. Pope Gregory was advised by the then famous religious leader Saint Beed that there are 365 days, 5 hours and 46 seconds in a year. After this, a new calendar was made by making a big change in the Roman calendar and January 1 was considered as a new year.
