New Delhi: T20 World 2021 is starting from today in UAE and Oman. The Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli is the biggest contender to win the World Cup. But Team India will be threatened as always by the best teams like West Indies and England. But in the meantime, there will be another team from which India will have to survive. Now the captain of the same team has given an open challenge to all the countries.

Australia’s limited overs captain Aaron Finch has said that his team is desperate to win the T20 World Cup title. Australia has to play the match against South Africa in Super-12 on 23 October. Their preparations, however, have not been as expected as the Kangaroo team had to face defeats against West Indies and Bangladesh.

Finch said, ‘Winning the title will be big. It’s something we don’t have. Many times we have been close to winning it. Australia was defeated by India in the semi-finals in 2007. “We are still very confident going into it,” Finch told ICCCricket.com. We have a team that has played a lot of T20s. Every team can win any match, we know that in T20 cricket all teams have match winners so we just have to act at the right time. Like Australia, South Africa’s team has not yet won the T20 World Cup title. She reached the semi-finals in 2009 and 2014.

The tournament will begin today with the Round 1 Group B match between Oman and Papua New Guinea, in which other Group B teams Scotland and Bangladesh will take on each other. Group A consists of Ireland, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and Namibia. Round 1 matches will run from October 17 to October 22. The top two teams from each group will move to the Super 12 stage starting from 23 October.
