According to them, retail sales of cars increased by 10.99 percent to 2,87,182 units in February 2023, which is more than the sales of 2,58,736 units in February 2022. Maruti Suzuki continues to lead in terms of sales volumes, selling 1,18,892 units in February 2023, up from 1,09,611 units sold in February 2022. That is, its sales growth rate has been 8.47 percent on an annual basis.
During February 2023, Hyundai remained at number two in terms of sales volume. Last month in February 2023 it sold 39,106 units while in February 2022 it sold 38,688 units. That is, the growth rate of its sales has been only 1.08 percent. At the same time, Tata now comes third in sales volume. Tata Motors’ retail sales in February 2023 stand at 38,965 units, up from 34,055 units sold in February 2022. Its annual sales growth rate has been 14.42 percent.
Now if we look here from the point of view of sales volume, then of course Maruti Suzuki is ahead of both Tata and Hyundai. But, if the sales growth rate is seen on an annual basis, Tata Motors has left behind both Hyundai and Maruti. Maruti’s sales growth rate (on annual basis) stood at 8.47 per cent, Hyundai’s at 1.08 per cent while Tata Motors at 14.42 per cent.
