New Delhi: The central government said on Thursday that there are 18 such districts in the country where the weekly positivity rate remains 5-10 percent. Giving information about the situation of corona virus in the country, the government said that the cases of virus are decreasing in the country but Kerala is still registering the maximum number of cases. The government said that there is a decrease in the number of active cases across the country, along with the recovery rate is also increasing continuously. The government said that the recovery rate in the country has reached 98 percent.
The government said that 69 percent of the country’s adult population has received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 25 percent have received both. It also said that the increasing density of population has also increased the scope for the spread of COVID-19 and it would be prudent to avoid unnecessary travel and celebrate the festival on a smaller scale.
The government said that 64.1 percent of the doses of the Covid-19 vaccine were given in rural areas, while 35 percent were given in urban areas. It said that a total of 67.4 lakh doses were given at those vaccination centers which are not listed as rural/urban.
The government said that 59.66 per cent of the total Covid cases reported last week were from Kerala and the number of patients under treatment in the state is more than one lakh. It also said that the number of COVID-19 tests has not decreased and 15-16 lakh tests are being conducted daily in the country.
The government said that in 15 districts, the weekly positivity rate of corona virus infection is between five and 10 percent, while in 30 districts it is more than 10 percent. On Zydus Cadila’s Covid-19 vaccine, the government said that Zycov-D is a three-dose non-needle vaccine and its price will be determined separately from the vaccine currently being administered. It said that its pricing is being discussed with the manufacturer.
